The special ministry of the Eucharist is to serve the Eucharistic community, assisting the priest in giving communion to the faithful at Mass, taking communion from the Eucharistic assembly to the faithful who are homebound, and taking communion from the Eucharistic assembly to the faithful who are hospital bound.
