Fr. Stan writes . . .

This weekend we celebrate the wonderful milestone of 60 years of priesthood for our beloved former parish priest Fr Kevin O’Grady.

We are honoured to join Fr Kevin, his family members and friends, as we thank God for sixty years of priesthood. Priests are especially conscious of being living instruments of Christ the Priest. Their function by sacramental character is that of men complying with the action of God through shared instrumental effectiveness. (Congregation for the Clergy, The Priest and the Third Christian Millennium, Chapter 3, No. 1). Linked with this is a personal thankfulness, “The Almighty has done great things for me and holy is his name.”

Joining Fr Kevin will be his seminary classmate Fr Cletus Tuderti osb from Italy who was ordained on the same day as Fr Kevin. We are also delighted that the Apostolic Nuncio to Australia, Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, will be the Principal Celebrant for these festivities. Together with Fr Kevin, Fr Cletus and Archbishop Yllana, we join to the most effective prayer of praise to the Father known to us, as we offer the Mass with them and for their gift of priesthood.
